POOPS is a volunteer-run organisation that links up police-cleared volunteers with seniors who need help caring for their pets. We all know how very important pets are to people, especially the elderly, and POOPS mission is to keep people together with their pets for as long as possible. Volunteers walk dogs, help with transport to the vet, groomer or to a boarding kennel if you to be away for medical or other reasons. We can even assist with changing litter trays, grooming etc. The free service is available to anyone who is over 65, and unable to pay for help with their pets. POOPS has volunteers across the Perth metro area and in Busselton.

Telecross is a service that provides the elderly and housebound with a reassuring daily phone call to ensure that they are safe and well. If this call goes unanswered an agreed emergency procedure will be activated and help arranged if necessary. Telecross calls are made by trained volunteers daily at an agreed time that suits the recipient of the call. Telecross provides peace of mind to clients and their families, and allows the elderly and housebound to maintain their independence for as long as possibles. Telecross also has the added benefit of providing a degree of companionship and contributes to a decrease in the sense of isolation many people experience.
